Douglas G. Ness, 62, of Wolverton, MN, died on Thursday, October 11, 2018, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND

Douglas Gene Ness was born December 12, 1955, the son of Donovan and Carol (Johnson) Ness, in Fargo. He was raised in Moorhead, MN, until moving with his family to Omaha, NE, in 1970. In Omaha, Doug attended Millard High School graduating in 1973. He established his home in Elkhorn, NE, where he owned and operated a roofing business. In the early 1990s, Doug moved to a farm near Wolverton, where he began working for Nelson Organ Company as a pipe organ technician. Doug found a lot of joy living on the farm and enjoyed the quiet country life.

Doug had his pilot's license and enjoyed flying, taking several trips over the years. His love for flying included putting together model airplanes and building small miniature aircraft. He also enjoyed "Hot Cars," restoring a 1960's Buick, boating, playing frisbee and had a great love for cats and dogs.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristen (Nolan) Nielsen, Griswold, IA; grandchildren, Ryan, Dane and Nova; parents, Donovan and Carol Ness, Pelican Rapids, MN; sister, Crystal (Terry) Thompson, Plano, TX; brothers, Paul (Diane) Ness, Blaine, MN, Dr. David Ness, Minneapolis, MN, Randy (Patty) Ness, Springfield, NE, and Timothy (Becky) Ness, Alexandria, MN; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Michael Nelson, Wolverton.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

A Gathering of Friends for Douglas will be one hour prior to his memorial service.

His Memorial Service will be Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 11:00 AM in Faith Lutheran Church, Wolverton.
