Duaine H. Dale, 79, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, May 26, 2008 in his home under the care of his loving wife and Hospice of the Red River Valley
Duaine was born on April 15, 1929 in Crookston, MN. He was one of five children born to Henry and Ida (Rudd) Dale. He grew up in Nielsville, MN, and attended school in Climax, MN. Duaine was drafted into the Army in 1951 and served two years during the Korean War. He was trained as a Medic and worked as a carpenter in Korea. After leaving the Army he returned to the family farm in Nielsville.
Duaine married Janice Strommen on October 18, 1958, in Climax. They raised four children while living in Moorhead. Duaine worked as a plumber for Valley Service for six years and then worked for Robert Gibb and Sons until he retired in 1991.
Duaine enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, genealogy and woodworking. He created many beautiful and unique wood art pieces that he donated to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead where they are displayed and gave other pieces as gifts to family members who treasure them.
Duaine is survived by his wife Janice; four children, Douglas (Dar) Dale, Trenton, OH, Lori (Jeff) Houseman, Moorhead, Jean Dertinger, Zimmerman, MN, Randy (Shelly) Dale, Moorhead; six grandchildren, Dustin (Cassandra) Dale, Jessica Dale, Zachery Dale, Br
Visitation for Duaine will be Thursday, May 29, 2008, from 5 - 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
His Funeral will be Friday, May 30, 2008, at 11 AM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial with military honors will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
