Echo J. Franke

Echo Jeanne Sorom was born September 27, 1922, in Gilby, ND, to William and Tracey (Conway) Sorom. Echo graduated from Page (ND) High School in 1940. She received a teaching degree from Moorhead (MN) State Teachers College.

She married Raymond Franke on July 5, 1942, in Page. They moved to Felton, MN, in 1952, where they farmed. Ray and Echo moved into Fargo, ND, in 1995, and they spent many winters in New Braunfels, TX.

Ray died August 19, 1997, and she continued to make her home in Fargo. Echo died Sunday, November 29, 2015, at Sheyenne Crossing, West Fargo, ND, at ninety-three years of age.

Echo enjoyed a good game of cards, playing bingo, fishing on Cotton Lake, and watching every Minnesota Twins game.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Matthew) Sorby, Moorhead, and Nancy (Chuck) Kinzler, Bertram, TX; sons, Dean Franke, New Braunfels, and Douglas (Barbara) Franke, Felton; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Echo was preceded in death by a brother, Owen.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 3, 2015, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her funeral will be Friday, December 4, 2015, at 11 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel.

Burial will take place in Erie Cemetery, Erie, ND.
