Edison Van Delano Jerdee was born September 22, 1933, in Hawley, MN, to Emil and Flossie (Baker) Jerdee. He was raised on the family farm in Lake Park, MN, and graduated from Lake Park High School in 1953.
Edison served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War and returned to Lake Park following his discharge. He married Marianne Logan at Lake Park, on August 18, 1956. They continued to make their home in Lake Park.
Edison farmed in the Lake Park area and began his own bridge-building business in 1966. Due to health issues, he had to retire in 2013. He entered Golden Living Center in August of 2013. He died Friday, September 11, 2015, at Golden Living Center, at eighty-one years of age.
Edison is survived by his children, Jackie (John) Kleeberger, Frontenac, MN, Tim Jerdee, Beloit, WI, Todd Jerdee, Detroit Lakes, MN, Jody (Vern) Bryant, Mankato, MN, Tracy Jerdee, Sioux City, IA, Jon Jerdee, Moorhead, MN, and Dana (Heather) Jerdee, Lake Elmo, MN; thirteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and three sisters, Wanda (Harold) Christensen, Fargo, ND, Beverly Erickson, and Shirley (Manuel) Todhunter, both of Lewistown, ID;
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Edison; sisters, June, and Barbara; and brothers, Emil, Eugene, and Edward.
A Celebration Service for Edison will be at 10 AM, Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Lysne Lutheran Church, rural Hawley, MN.
