Edna Strandlien

Edna Florence Lund was born September 8, 1918, in Pelican Township, MN, to Gustav and Hilda (Grandrud) Lund. She was raised in the Pelican Rapids, MN, area where she attended school.

Edna worked as a housekeeper for a family in Fergus Falls, MN, walking the twenty-two mile distance a number of times. She married Ernest Strandlien on December 24, 1938, at Hawley, MN.

They worked on a farm near Hawley for one year, and moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1940. Edna worked at The Waffle Shop in Moorhead as well as the bakery at Concordia College for twenty-three years. Ernest died June 3, 1983, and Edna continued to reside in Moorhead.

Edna died Wednesday, November 13, 2013, in Golden Living Center, Moorhead, at ninety-five years of age.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hanson, Fargo, ND; son, Harold (Joan) Strandlien, Moorhead; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen (Pete) Neumann, St. Paul, MN.

In addition to her husband, Edna was preceded in death by an infant son; granddaughter, Barbara; and seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 16, 2013, from 10 - 11 AM, followed by the funeral at 11 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Burial will be in Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
