Edward Leonard Hoaglund, Moorhead, MN, died in his home on Monday, December 31, 2012, at the age of 60.
Edward was born November 5, 1952, in St. Aloisius Hospital, Harvey, ND, to Leonard and Marceline (Striefel) Hoaglund. He was raised in rural Anamoose, ND, and graduated from Anamoose High Schol. In 1978, he enlisted in the North Dakota Army National Guard, and was honorably discharged six years later. He graduated from Lake Region State College, Devils Lake, ND, with an associate degree in soil conservation.
On January 14, 1977, Edward married Linda Schmitt, now Weber, at St. Margaret-Mary Church in Drake, ND. During their union, they had three children, Kristy, Chad and Nathan.
In about 1993, Edward moved to Minot, ND, where he worked for the Burlington Northern Railway. In 2005, he moved to Fargo-Moorhead area, where he had lived since.
Edward is survived by his children, Kristy (Paul) Wishinsky, Chad (BobbiJo) Weber, and Nathan (Kristina) Weber; nine grandchildren: Paul, Lexi and Drew; Ethan, Mathias, Zander and Sterling; and John and Chase; his mother, Marceline; sister, Beverly (Ernie) Sheile; brothers, Leslie (Kathy), Rick (Michelle), Garry (Jane), and Larry (Deb) Hoaglund; sister-in-law, Tammy Hoaglund; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; brothers, Tommy and Steve; and his grandparents, Edward and Alma (Beaty) Hoaglund and Andrew and Genevieve (Wenninger) Striefel.
Memorial service: Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at 1 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
