Edward M. Johnson, the son of Frank and Martha (Leebeck) Johnson, was born Dec. 28, 1916, in Moorhead, MN. He grew up in the Moorhead area and graduated from high school at the Moorhead State College Campus School.
During WW II, Edward served his country in the US Army Special Forces, seeing duty in the Pacific Theatre of War.
On March 20, 1948, Edward married Noella M. Brunette in Moorhead. They lived on the family farm south of Moorhead, and then moved to a farm north of Moorhead, where they had lived since. Edward farmed and was a roofer, until his retirement in 2003.
Edward died on Friday, June 18, 2010 in Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, ND, at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his parents; and nine brothers and sisters.
Edward is survived by his wife, Noella; five children, Ramona, Robert, Marilyn, Eileen and Leslie Johnson; a sister, Lyla DuBord; and a brother, David Johnson.
