Elaine B. Peterson

WEATHER NOTIFICATION: due to weather conditions, the funeral for Leone has been rescheduled to Friday, April 26, 2018,, at 2 PM, in Kormso Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Elaine Beverly Peterson was born on Thursday, September 2, 1937, in St. Luke's Hospital, Fargo, ND. Her parents were Hazel and Wallace Peterson of Glyndon, MN. Elaine was their first child. The labor and delivery did not go well and after 48 hours, Elaine was born with irreparable brain damage. After living at home for 9 years, Elaine's parents were encouraged to place her in one of Minnesota's state hospitals. Elaine lived in Cambridge, Brainard, Fergus Falls and, for the last 21 years, lived and was cared for at 'Divine House' in Moorhead.

Elaine had a loving personality and was known for her hugs and kisses. However, she also made her feelings known if you invaded her space or tried to make her do something she didn't want to do.

She will be deeply missed. Elaine died peacefully at Eventide On Eighth, Moorhead, under the care of Ethos Hospice, on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.

She was preceded in death by father, Wally (1985) & mother Hazel (2002). She is survived by a brother, Larry (Joan Reck) Peterson; her sister, Joyce (Jerry) Breen; nieces and nephews; cousins; and one uncle and aunt.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 2 PM.

Burial will be in Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead.
