Elaine E. Gruenhagen

Elaine Eunice Ferber was born February 27, 1927, at Minneapolis, MN, to Rev. W.O. and Ottilie (Uecker) Ferber.

Since her father was a minister, they lived in several locations around Minnesota, including Duluth. They eventually settled in Fargo, ND, where Elaine worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone.

Elaine was married to Arnold Gruenhagen, and they lived on the Iron Range of Minnesota. She lived in Robbinsdale, MN, for several years before settling in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Elaine worked as an admissions clerk at St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes until she retired in 1992. She continued to make her home in Detroit Lakes.

Elaine died Saturday, April 9, 2022, in Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, at ninety-five years of age.

Elaine is survived by her son, David, Moorhead; two grandsons, Shawn (Tracy), and Jason (Chantee); six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edgar Ferber.

Visitation will begin at 1 PM, followed by a funeral at 2 PM, Tuesday, April 19, 2022, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Burial will take place in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
