Elaine Rose Thompson was born August 4, 1927, near Wild Rice, ND, to Lloyd and Mabel (Bellefeuille) Thompson. She was raised in the Wild Rice and Hickson, ND, area, where she received her education.
Elaine was united in marriage to Ervin "Hod" Gravalin, on July 14, 1947, in Moorhead, where they made their home.
Hod died April 26, 2006, and Elaine continued to reside in Moorhead. Elaine died Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at Essentia Health, Fargo, at eighty-three years of age.
Elaine had many fulfilling hobbies. She and Hod liked to go fishing and took numerous trips to the lakes. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, watching ballgames, listening to country music and dancing. She was also very determined in how she kept her house. The floor was not cleaned properly unless you got on your hands and knees to scrub it! She liked to bake and cook. She was quite famous for her apple pies and her "greens." During family get-togethers, Elaine would start a poker game and she was often the big winner! She had great fun going to the casinos. It didn't really matter if she won or lost, she just liked to get out and go. She was a shopper too. It was always interesting to see if there would be room for her purchases and the passengers! Sometimes we would need to take two cars!
Friends and family were very important to Elaine. She loved spending time with them and was always there when they needed her to listen, give advice or simply for a hug. The past four years, she battled various health problems and challenges with minima

Visitation for Elaine will be Sunday, October 10, 2010, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Kormso Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
The Funeral Mass will be Monday, October 11, 2010, at 11 AM, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
