Eleanor Sather

December 10, 1926 — April 1, 2009

Eleanor Sather, 82, Moorhead, MN, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009, in Jamestown, ND.

Eleanor Tatley was born Dec. 10, 1926, to Clara and William Tatley in Hitterdal, MN, where she grew up and graduated from high school. After high school she moved to the Fargo Moorhead area, always close at hand, her friend of 82 years, Myrt Wenner Swanson.

Throughout her years she worked at NDSU and St. Ansgar Hospital in the dietary department. She was a lifetime member of the Moorhead VFW, served on the board of the Ex-POWS, volunteered at the VA Hospital, and was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead.

A big Minnesota Twins Fan, she will be wearing her Gomez bracelet on Monday, for the season opening. She liked her bingo and there wasn't a charity not worthy of giving to. She was proud of her country, the Red, White, and Blue, and supported our troops.

On April 26, 1947, Eleanor married Raymond Mitchell, having nine children from that union. On January 12, 1991, she married Clinton Sather and enjoyed many happy years with him until the time of his death, January 28, 2006.

Eleanor is survived by eight children, Linda (James) Lease, Becky (Rick) Hoselton, both Fargo, ND, Sheila (James) Strickland, Clinton, MD, Steve Mitchell, Fargo, Rick Mitchell, Menominee, WI, Daniel Kent Mitchell, Seattle, WA, and Tim (Andrea) Mitchell, H
In addition to her husband, Clinton, an infant son, Steven Larry, her parents, Clara and William Tatley, and a brother, Carrol Tatley, preceded her in death.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the MeritCare Dialysis Center for their compassion and great care these last six months. Eleanor truly loved you all.
