Elizabeth "Betty" A. Anderson, 78, Fargo, ND, formerly of Dilworth, MN, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, in MeritCare Medical Center, Fargo.
Elizabeth "Betty" Arlene Mark was born October 19, 1931 in Fergus Falls, MN, to John and Wilma (Fricken) Mark. She married Wally Lemke in 1951, and to this union two sons were born, Ronald and Richard.
On April 19, 1968, Betty married Willard "Bert" Anderson, and a daughter, Julie, was born. Bert died in 1982.
Betty worked as a bartender in the Dilworth and Fargo-Moorhead area. She was an avid gardener from which she did canning for her friends and family. Betty loved to cook, entertain, and go to the lake and camp. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Ronald (Myrna) Lemke, Dilworth; a daughter, Julie (Scott) Porter, Fargo; her special friend, Robert Thielbar; sisters, Corie Rogers and Dorothy (Ernie) Moen, both of Fergus Falls; Mary Morris, Oregon, and JoAnn Mark, Detroit Lakes, MN; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 3 stepchildren, Cheryl Anderson, Bruce (Lynette) Anderson, and Gary (Denise) Anderson; and numerous stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bert; a son, Richard; and a stepson, Steven.
The Memorial Service for Betty will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 10:30 AM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
