Elizabeth "Betty" Ellen Hill was born April 18, 1927, in Evanston, IL, to Virgil and Stella (Lindstrom) Hill. Betty was raised in Evanston where she received her education.
Betty married Dale Smith August 16, 1947, at Borup, MN, where they lived and farmed. She married Oliver Ingebretsen July 15, 1976, at Fargo, ND, and they made their home in Fargo. Oliver died February 19, 2000.
Betty died Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, at eighty-four years of age.
Betty is survived by her three sons, Robert (Lenore) Smith, Hopkins, MN, Michael (Lavonne) Smith, Audubon, MN, and Donald (Denise) Smith, Dilworth; step-daughter, Sharon (Maure) Sand, Bismarck, ND; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Hill, Wausau, WI; brother-in-law, Harold (Virginia) Ingebretsen, Fargo; sister-in-law, Gladys Ingebretsen, Felton, MN; and aunt and uncle, Wilbert and Ruth Lindstrom, Merrill, WI.
In addition to her husband, Oliver, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lois.
The funeral for Betty will be Monday, February 6, 2012, at 11 AM, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo.
Visitation will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Burial will be in Scandia Lutheran Cemetery, Averill, MN.
