Elizabeth "Bettie" Norris, age 89, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, in Villa Maria, Fargo.
Our beloved mother, Elizabeth Louise Bedore was born, January 26, 1923 in Donovan, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Ethel (Laird) Bedore. She was raised in Donovan where she graduated from high school. After high school she moved to California where she assisted with the war effort during World War II.
She returned to Illinois where she met her husband, Peter Norris and they were married on November 5, 1945. They made their home in Dilworth, MN, until moving to Moorhead, MN, in 1954, where they raised their family. In 1969 they moved to Melborune, Florida, where they lived until 1984, when they retired and settled in Murphy, NC. Peter died in 1989 and Bettie moved to Fargo to be near her family.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moorhead and was active in the Catholic Daughters. She was also active in various other organizations over the years.
Bettie enjoyed golf, playing bridge, reading and traveling. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Bettie is survived by her children, Edward Norris, of Fargo, Marjorie Ann (Richard) Thompson of Fargo, William (Rebecca) Norris of Frazee, MN, and Peter Norris, of Melbourne, FL; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter; brothers, Robert and Francis Bedore; and sister, Marjorie Bedore.
Memorial Service: Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at 2:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
