Ella Albrecht

Ella Albrecht, 95, West Fargo, ND, died Thursday, May 15, 2014, in Villa Maria, Fargo, ND.

Ella Schock, daughter of Karl and Ottilia (Zimmerman) Schock, was born near Lehr, ND, on March 9, 1919. She grew up and received her education in the Lehr area.

On August 15, 1939, Ella married David Albrecht. They made their home in Moorhead, MN. David died February 8, 1969.

After his death, Ella continued to live in Moorhead. On April 14, 1984, Ella married David's brother, Herbert Albrecht. They also lived in Moorhead. Herbert died on April 30, 1994. After his death, Ella moved to the high rise in West Fargo, where she had lived since.
Ella had a deep Christian faith, and expressed it by being active in her church. She loved her family, often caring for her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook, making wonderful German delicacies; was an avid gardener; and an active volunteer at the high rise. She enjoyed doing handwork in her spare time. Ella will always be remembered as being caring, loving, and very independent.

Ella is survived by three children, Gloria (Duane) Retterath, Bismarck, ND, Kenneth (Jackie) Albrecht, Hastings, MN, and Kevin (Benita) Albrecht, Moorhead; two sisters, Gladys Rott and Emma Ulmer; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Wayne.

In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Melvin; son-in-law, Richard Rudolph; and three siblings, Darlene Schock, Katie Schaffer, and Harold Schock.

Ella's funeral will be Monday, May 19, 2014, at 11 AM, in Community Baptist Church, Fargo.

Public visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral, at the church.

Burial will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
