Elmo T. Swenson

Elmo T. Swenson was born October 21, 1918, on the family farm near Ulen, MN, to Andrew and Christine (Tweiten) Swenson. Elmo was raised in that area and attended School District 105 for his education.
As a young man, Elmo and his brother, Morris, moved to the Beltrami, MN, area where they farmed. Elmo farmed that land until he retired and moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1989.
Elmo entered Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, in November of 2009, where he died Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at ninety-one years of age.
Elmo is survived by his nephews, Arlan (Connie) and Ardean (Vicki) Swenson; grandnieces and grandnephews, Timothy (Melissa) Swenson, Laurie Indvik, Thomas (Holly) Swenson, Leisha (Jeff) Pippin, Christopher (Apryl) Swenson, Tammy (Wayde) Altendorf,Jennifer (Jim) Schaner, Keri (Jeff) Orndorff and Teresa (Kurt) Nierste; numerous great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces; and close friends and neighbors, David and Connie Woods and family.
Elmo was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alvin and Morris; one sister, Alice; sister-in-law, Alvina Swenson; one niece, Alvina Evans; and four grandnieces.
Memorials are preferred to the Roger Maris Cancer Center.
Visitation for Elmo will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
His funeral will be Friday, December 4, 2009, at 10:30 AM, in The Lutheran Church of Christ the King.
Burial will be Friday at 2 PM, at Scandia Cemetery, Beltrami.
