Elthea A. Lass

January 17, 1932 — September 20, 2011

Elthea A. Lass, 79, Fargo, ND, formerly of Glyndon, MN, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011, in ManorCare Health Services, Fargo, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Elthea was born to Arthur and Christie (Lebeda) Leach on January 17, 1932, in Glyndon. She attended Glyndon Country School in her teen years.

Elthea married Carl Lass on January 22, 1950, in Glyndon where they resided. Carl died in June of 1986. Elthea later moved to Moorhead, MN, and to Dilworth, MN. She then became a resident at Bethany Retirement Living and finally at ManorCare.

Elthea enjoyed camping, game shows, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a NASCAR and Twins fan.

Elthea worked for the Glyndon-Felton School District from 1973 to 1994, when she retired.

She is survived by three sons, Delane Lass, Randy (Debbie) Lass, and Gary (Julie) Lass; three daughters, Linda (Craig) Thompson, Tammy (Mark) McRae, and Melody Holen; 8 grandchildren, Rhonda (Rene) Fox, Ryan (Susie) Fox, Tyanna (Dan) Lass, Kevin (Jodi) Johnson, Brooke (fiancé, Eli) Johnson, Ian McRae, Jessica Holen and Nicholas Holen; 6 great-grandchildren, Austin, Kobe, Cooper, Kiley, Carter, and Paige; seven brothers, Duane Leach, Don (Monna Lou) Leach, Irvin (Delores) Leach, Denis (Irene) Leach, Larroll (Carol) Leach, Darwin (Marlys) Leach, and Curt (Kris) Leach; and five sisters, Mavis (Dick) Wang, Diane Pickett, Ardelle (Harold) Brandt, Doreen (Ron) Wang, and Bonnie Leach.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Verne and Rickie.

Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral service at the church

Funeral: Friday, September 23, 2011 at 2 PM at Glyndon Lutheran Church, Glyndon

Burial: Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead.
