Enga E. Anderson, 89, Felton, MN, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 in Bridges Care Community, Ada, MN, where she had been a resident since January of 2010.
Enga Emilia Bakken, the daughter of Ole and Caroline Bakken, was born in Vining, MN, on February 24, 1921. As a young girl, she grew up in Wyndmere, ND, and in Glyndon, MN, where she graduated from high school. After receiving her education, she moved to Jamestown, ND, where she worked in a hospital. She later returned to Glyndon, to care for her mother.
In 1951, Enga married George DesJardins. They lived in Felton, MN, where they owned and operated a café/bar. George died in 1962.
In 1964, she married Art Anderson. They lived in Felton, and continued to operate the café/bar for many years. Art died on September 16, 1996. After his death, Enga continued to live in Felton, until she moved to Bridges Care Center in Ada.
Enga was a wonderful cook. She also devoted much time to quilting, gardening, and canning her produce.
Enga is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis (Bob) Dittmer and Diane Nesvold, both of Felton; step daughters, Sheila (David) Otting, Clearbrook, MN, and Mary (Richard) Hilde, Dilworth; two sisters, Alice (Clyde) Olson, Oakes, ND, and Doris Aune, Moorhea
In addition to her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Susan Mary DesJardins; step daughter, Georgia Larson; grandson, Jeff Larson; three sisters, Olga Elshaug, Selma Johnson, and Bertha Juve; and brothers, Peter, Adolph, B
