Ernest H. Dahl, age 78, of rural Felton, MN, died on Thursday, January 8, 2004, at MeritCare Hospital, South University, in Fargo, ND.
Ernest Harold Dahl, the son of Job and Ragna (Nelson) Dahl, was born in Fargo, ND, on May 5, 1925. He grew up and received his education in the rural Felton, MN, area. He graduated from Moorhead (MN) High School in 1943.
Ernest served in the US Army Air Corps, from 1943 to 1945. After his discharge he attended North Dakota Agricultural College (now known at North Dakota State University) in Fargo.
On August 3, 1948, Ernest was united in marriage to Marlys Pake at Estes Park, Colorado. They made their home in rural Felton. From 1951 to 1952, Ernest served his country a second time by serving in the US Air Force.
After his discharge, he returned to the family farm, where Ernest and Marlys farmed until they retired in 1979. After retirement, they continued to live on the farm. Ernest was a member of the Morken Township Board for many years. He was a member of the board of Minnesota State Farm Bureau and served as president of the Clay Co. Farm Bureau. He also sang in the FM Ambassador Chorus.
He is survived by his wife, Marlys, rural Felton; two sons, Duane, Lakewood, CO, and Larry (Amber) Dahl, West Fargo, ND; four daughters, Susan (Mike) Burk, Phoenix, AZ, Deborah (Lyle) Zeller, Anchorage, Alaska, Janet Hensrud, Moorhead, and Karen Harmonson
