Ernestine Stewart, 80, Fargo, ND, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Eventide Fargo. 

Ernestine “Ernie” was born November 25, 1942, in San Antonio, TX to Ernest and Ruth (Borseth) Westfall.  Over the years, Ernestine was employed at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, TX.  She also worked for HUD and GSA in Kansas City, MO, Fort Sam Houston, TX, and Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, NM.  Upon retirement, she moved to Corpus Christie, TX and to Fargo in 2016. 

Ernestine is survived by her sisters, Barbara Olson, Fargo, and Phyllis (David) Brandt, Pelican Rapids, MN; step-father, Collin Wahl, Fargo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Wahl; father, Ernest Westfall; stepfather, Edwin Swanson; brother, Alfred Westfall; sister, Mary Harrill; and a brother-in-law, Richard “Snooky” Olson.

Visitation for Ernestine will begin at 1 PM, followed by a Life Celebration service at 2 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2023, in St. Andrew Lutheran Church, West Fargo, ND.

Ernestine’s family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at Eventide on 51^st Street South in Fargo for their compassionate, dedicated care.

In lieu of flowers or memorials, the family requests charitable donations be made in Ernestine's name to the Parkinson's Foundation, The American Heart Foundation or The Eventide Foundation.
