Erven J. Lauinger, age 74, of Fargo, ND, died on Saturday, May 29, 2004, at Villa Maria in Fargo
Erven John Lauinger, the son of Ben and Barbara Lauinger, was born July 22, 1929, in Strasburg, ND, where he grew up and received his education. He worked on the family farm until the Korean War. Erven served his country in the US Army and saw combat action in Korea.
On Aug. 18, 1956, Erven married Donna Olson. They lived in Fargo, St. Cloud, MN, and in Moorhead, MN. Erven worked as a sprinkler fitter for Sorenson Company. In 1984, He moved to Minneapolis, MN, and continued to work as a sprinkler fitter.
In 1989, he retired and moved back to Moorhead. In September of 2000, Erven became a resident of Villa Maria in Fargo.
He is survived by a daughter, Kim (Karl) Buhaug, Moorhead; four brothers, Joe (Betsy) Lauinger, Linton, ND, Tony (Trudy) Lauinger, Minneapolis, Conrad (Rose) Lauinger, Fargo, and Baldwin (Grace) Lauinger, Bismarck, ND; four sisters, Evangeline Lauinger, Fargo, Tillie Rothlisberger, Fargo, Betty Bachmann, Fargo and Virginia (Armondo) Baur, New Jersey; and one granddaughter, Lindsey Buhaug.
Visitation: one hour before the funeral, at the church.
Funeral mass: Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at 2 PM,
St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church,
Moorhead, Minnesota.
Burial: Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
