Estella Hernandez

Estella Hernandez, 55, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2020, in Sanford West Campus, Fargo, ND.

Estella Hernandez was born on July 25, 1964, to Antonio Hernandez and Eva Rivera, in Moorhead. Estella was raised in Moorhead and graduated from Carrizo Springs High School, TX in 1982.

Estella was well known as a great cook and baker. She worked as a cook at various places but loved to cook at home for her friends and family as well. She was known to make anything from pineapple upside down cake to tortillas. Estella was very secretive of her recipes. If you asked her for one, she would choose to make it for you, but she would never share the recipe. She was also known to be the grill master as she would insist on doing all of the cooking on the grill. Anything she cooked, baked or grilled was wonderful, and would often cook for family gatherings and birthdays.

Estella also enjoyed many other activities aside from cooking. She did a lot of sewing and loved to decorate. Estella was a very crafty person and created many things including centerpieces for various events.

The most important thing in Estella's life was always her family. She loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. Estella was the kind of person to make friends with everyone around her, as she was a very warm and caring person.

Estella is survived by her father Antonio Hernandez; mother, Eva Rivera; longtime boyfriend, Rolando Estrada; children, Rolando Jr., Christopher, Dennis, Olando, Joe, Vanessa, and Rebecca; 15 grandchildren; siblings, Ruben, Elisa (Jesus), Ray, Victoriano (Christina), and Moraima; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Estella will take place one hour prior to her service. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, March 5, 2020, at 2 PM, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
