Estelle Marion McMaster was born November 11, 1919, near Grandin, ND, to Elmer and Matilda (Aasen) McMaster.
Estelle was raised in that area and confirmed at Bethania Lutheran Church in 1934. She graduated from high school in Hendrum, MN, in the class of 1938.
Soon after graduation, Estelle began working at a retail store in Hendrum and then Perley, MN. She continued her career in retail sales in Fargo, where she worked for Herbst Department Store, Buttrey's, and Sears. She retired from Sears with twenty-four years of service.
She was united in marriage to Ralph A. Sorenson on December 12, 1940, in Moorhead, MN. Following retirement, she and Ralph divided their time between Moorhead and their home on Ottertail Lake. Ralph died April 5, 2003, and Estelle continued to make her home in Moorhead.
Estelle died Saturday, November 26, 2005, in her home in Moorhead, under the kind and compassionate care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, at eighty-six years of age.
Estelle is survived by her daughter, Marion (Robert "Butch") MacArthur, Fargo; two grandsons, Todd (Carol) Cannon, Mantorville, MN, and Chris (Annette) Cannon, West Fargo, ND; one step-granddaughter, Stephanie (Scott) Bundy, Lino Lakes, MN; one step-grand
Visitation for Estelle will be Tuesday, November 29, 2005, from 6 - 8 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. The funeral will be Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at 1 PM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead, with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial G
