Betts followed Mont back to Minnesota in March, 1946. They lived for a short time in Downer, MN, before building a house and moving to Moorhead, MN. After Mont retired they made their home on Lake Franklin (near Pelican Rapids) and they wintered in Henderson, NV, where Betts loved to play the video poker machines.
Betts was the oldest member of the area British Club, a group of British women who got together regularly to socialize and remember their British history and traditions. She was also a member of the United Presbyterian Women's Church Circle.
Betts was very extroverted and loved to talk and entertain others. She was always dancing and singing. Her hobbies included knitting, painting, and arts and crafts. Her greatest passion, though, was her family. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, having 4th of July parties at the Lake, going on walks, or just playing a game of Scrabble.
