Esther Isabell Tostrude, 93, Moorhead,MN, passed away May 31, 2012, at Sanford Palliative Care Unit in Fargo,ND.
Esther was born May 6, 1919, to Charles and Gina Tosterud of Park Rapids MN. She attended school at Park Rapids and Nevis, MN.
Esther worked numerous jobs in restaurant, banking and retail, but her most important job was that of caretaker. She helped care for both of her parents as their health failed in their later years. She helped her brother, Chester, care for his children, Chad and Becky. She was nanny for her grandnephew and grandniece, Shawn and Shannon. After retiring, she volunteered with the Senior Companion program at Fairmont retirement home and Eventide Lutheran Home, both in Moorhead MN, for twenty-five years.
She is survived by her sister, Caroline Dregseth, and a number of nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great-grandnieces
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Alice Tosterud and Mable Teigen; three brothers, Arthur, Herbert and Chester; one niece and four nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Esther's life will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 10:30 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, with Pastor Stephen Streed presiding.
