Eugene "Gene" Knudtson

Eugene "Gene" Elwood Knudtson, son of Eleanore and Merrill, was born May 22, 1942, in Hitterdal, MN. He grew up in the Hitterdal-Hawley area, and received his education in Hitterdal, where he graduated from high school. Gene later attended plumbing school in Minneapolis, MN.
Gene lived in California and later returned to Minnesota, first to Frazee, where he was a truck driver and later to Glyndon, where he worked in a potato house.

On August 20, 1993, Gene married Rose Vondal. They made their home in Dilworth, MN. Gene was recently hospitalized and became a resident of ManorCare, Fargo, ND, where he died on January 19, 2017, at the age of 74.

Gene is survived by his wife, Rose; a son, Rodger, Dilworth; brothers, Richard, Roger (Ginny) and Ron (Deb) Knudtson; sisters, Elaine (Harlen) Jacobson, LaVaye (Mike) Luthi, and Donna Joy Johnson; two grandchildren; stepchildren, Daniel Vondal and Michelle Vanheel; and 7 stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by two children, Mary Jane and John Knudtson; and a brother, James.

Visitation for Gene will be Monday, 4 PM until 6 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.

His memorial service will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at 10 AM, also in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
