Eveleth "Evy" Bergseth

December 7, 1920 — November 11, 2015

Evy, daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Christy) Richards, was born in Rugby, ND, on December 7, 1920. She also lived in Langdon and Fargo, ND. After her marriage to Arno Bergseth in 1941, they moved to Moorhead, MN, where she lived until 2008. She spent her last years at Ecumen Cottages in Detroit Lakes, MN. Arno passed away October 6, 2000.

She was an active long-time member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead where she was the superintendent of the Sunday School, sang in the choir for many years, and participated in various other committees. She also volunteered her time and talents to Campfire Girls, Boy Scouts, Veterans Center, Eventide, and Harbor School. She loved to spend her summer weekends at their cabin on Little Bemidji Lake where she enjoyed watching nature and hosting her extended family.

Surviving Evy are her son, Del (Norma Altmann) Bergseth; a daughter, Valerie Nielsen; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous loved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Evy was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jerry Nielsen; four brothers; and two sisters.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 5 - 7 PM, with a sharing of memories at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Her funeral will be Monday, November 16, 2015, at 10:30 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
