Evelyn A. Fureby, age 89, of Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, November 18, 2006, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead.
Evelyn Adeline Estrin, the daughter of Oscar and Hilma (Nelson) Estrin, was born May 22, 1917, in Dale, MN, where she grew up and received her education.
On September 17, 1938, Evelyn was united in marriage to Andrew Fureby, in Hawley, MN. Following their marriage they made their home in Hawley, and later in Rollag, MN. Her husband, Andrew, died on December 12, 1958.
In 1964, Evelyn moved to the Fargo-Moorhead area. When Eventide Living Center opened in Moorhead, Evelyn became one of their first residents. She lived there for almost twenty years until October of 2005, when she became a resident of Eventide Lutheran Home.
Evelyn is survived by three daughters, Adeline (Robert) Wolfe, Dent, MN, Evangeline (Rolf) Heng, Rollag, MN, and Gloria Bellefeuille, St. Paul, MN; three sons, Robert Fureby, Auburn, CA, Stanley (Melen) Fureby, Sacramento, CA, and Duane (Nancy) Fureby, Rocklin, CA; two sisters, Margaret Estrin, Hemet, CA, and Viola (Chris) Rozikes, White Bear Lake, MN; a brother, Benjamin Estrin, North St. Paul, MN; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Pearl Rud and Ruth Kusserow; and a brother, Oscar Estrin.
Visitation: One hour, prior to the funeral, at the church.
Funeral service: Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, at 10:30 AM,in Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Fargo.
Burial: Hawley Cemetery, Hawley.
