Evelyn J. Marquardsen

Evelyn J. Marquardsen, 78, of Moorhead, MN, died in her home on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Evelyn Jeanette Marquardsen was born in Moorhead, on February 17, 1937, to Emil and Myrtle (Eckheart) Marquardsen. She grew up on the family farm near Glyndon, MN, attended rural School District 115 for eight years, and graduated from Glyndon High School in 1955. She attended Interstate Business College, Fargo, ND, and worked for New York Life for two years. Evelyn then worked for Equitable Life, until her retirement in 1990.

Evelyn lived at the rural farm home until moving to Moorhead in 2008. In later years she worked for Beltone Hearing Service.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Melvin; and a sister, Dorothy Beall. She is survived by a niece, Donna (Peter) Goomes, Stewart Island, New Zealand; and a nephew, Kenneth (Susan) Beall, Moorhead.

Evelyn enjoyed caring for her lawn and grew huge gardens. She felt lucky to live there, surrounded by many wonderful neighbors. She also greatly enjoyed her church family and had many great times with them.

Visitation for Evelyn will be Wednesday, from 5 PM until 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Her funeral service will be Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at 2 PM, also in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
