Evelyn Klotz

Evelyn I. Klotz, 93, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, surrounded by family. 

Evelyn Irene Nelson was born on January 5, 1932, in Fargo, ND, to Clara Nelson. She was raised in Fargo, where she attended and graduated from Fargo High School in 1950. Evelyn met and fell in love with Harry Herby Klotz Jr. and on June 27, 1952, Eveyln and Harry were united in marriage. The two moved to Missouri when Harry was drafted into the U.S. Army. After he was released from the military the two returned home to the Fargo/Moorhead area, where they raised three daughters. For a time Evey worked at Minnkota MFG Co. until its closing in the late 70’s. 

Evelyn was a great cook and baker. She loved to entertain for friends and family. Everyone was welcome in their home. She had a passion for gardening. She had the best tomatoes and rhubarb in the neighborhood. Herb and Evey were inseparable and enjoyed spending time together at local establishments with friends and family.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Lynnette (Tracy) Soule, Fargo, ND, and Sheri (David) Fossum, Red Wing, MN; son-in-law, Jake Kotrba; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harry; daughter, Diane Kotrba; mother, Clara; and brother, Arnold Reinhart. 

Evelyn’s Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 11 AM, in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Moorhead Memorial Gardens. 

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Eventide on Eighth, in Moorhead, for their kindness and attentive care to Evelyn while she was there the past 3 years.
