Evelyn Kragnes, 93, Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, in Golden Living Center, Moorhead.
Evelyn Alice Stella Thompson, daughter of Alexander and Ragna (Loe) Thompson, was born in rural Felton, MN, on Dec. 7, 1917. She grew up and received her education in the rural Felton area.
On October 8, 1940, Evelyn married Henry Kragnes. Following their marriage, they lived in Moorhead. They lived in Baltimore, MD, while Henry was in the service. When he went overseas, Evelyn returned to Moorhead.
Henry and Evelyn lived in Moorhead, where they raised their four children. They were founding members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Evelyn enjoyed time with her family and neighbors. She enjoyed playing dominos and cards, time spent at the cabin, needlework, gardening, Minnesota Twins baseball, and deer hunting season.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, who died in 1990; her parents; a son-in-law, Carl Jack; two sisters, Mildred Larson and Lillian Clemenson; and a brother, Lowell Thompson. She is survived by a son, Dennis (Diane) Kragnes, Moorhead
Visitation: Thursday, 5 PM to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead
Funeral service: Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at 1 PM, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead
