Evelyn Kroshus

Evelyn G. Dalen was born January 2, 1930, the daughter of George and Mary (Wambach) Dalen, on a farm near Georgetown, MN. She grew up there and attended school at Perley, MN. Evelyn came to Moorhead, MN, and worked at NorWest Bakery for a number of years.

Evelyn was united in marriage to Vern "Ole" Kroshus on April 15, 1951, at Moorhead, where they made their home. She babysat in her home for a number of years before they started Ole's Nursery in Moorhead. Ole died April 26, 2012, and Evelyn continued to reside in Moorhead.

Evelyn died Friday, March 14, 2014, at eighty-four years of age.

Evelyn is survived by her three sons, Vernon, Jeff, and Merlin Kroshus; a daughter, Marna (Tom) Lien; grandchildren, Nicole (Jason) Bolstad, Tammy (Casey) Olson, Josh, Nathan, Nick, Thera, Justin, and Vernon Kroshus Jr., Shannon Thompson, and Nicole Erickson; three sisters, Georgia (Merle) Taylor, Jean Boothroyd, and Violet Stein; a brother, General (Gail) Dalen; and a special friend, Ruth Borseth.

In addition to her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her father and mother; sisters, Elsie Jacobson, Irene Nickerson, Rose Eberhardt, and Virginia Brainerd; and one brother, George Dalen Jr.

Visitation for Evelyn will begin at 10 AM on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, with a funeral mass at 11 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
