Evelyn Mae Halstad was born May 5, 1934, in Halstad, MN, to Carl and Clara (Hage) Halstad. Evelyn was baptized and confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church, Halstad, and graduated from Halstad High School.
Evelyn married Orlin Halvorson in October of 1954. She was a stay-at-home mom but later worked at Sam's Club and Holiday Inn Gift Shop, Fargo, ND.
Evelyn had a strong faith in God, loved to use the word "uff-dah," loved the color royal blue, always dressed to impress, and her hair was never out of place. She enjoyed playing whist and listening to country music.
Evelyn adored her grandchildren and always had time to play checkers, board games and color with them. She was proud to be the granddaughter of Ole Halstad, who first settled in Halstad, MN, from Norway. We will miss Mom, her smile, laugh and sense of humor.
Evelyn passed away, Sunday, February 14, 2021, at Farmstead Living, Moorhead, MN, at eighty-six years of age. The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to Farmstead Living for the care and kindness they gave our Mom. Also, thanks to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
