Evelyn (Olson) Wenger died Friday, July 30, 2004, on her 89th birthday, at MeritCare South University Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, in Fargo, ND. She was attended by her family at her death.
Evelyn Joyce Ling was born July 30, 1915, to Ernest and Vivian (Thompson) Ling in Fargo, ND. She attended Fargo Public schools and married John R. Olson on July 4, 1936. She was employed by Shotwell Floral from 1955 to 1969. John died September 17, 1966. Evelyn's children are Gordon (Rose) Olson, Horace, ND; Betty Olson, Austin, TX, and Johanna Shultz, Fargo. Her son, Donald, preceded her in death.
Evelyn married Marlin "Spike" Wenger on Feb. 9, 1969. He died on July 24, 2000. Her stepchildren are Bruce (Lois) Wenger, Fargo, Mark (Barb) Wenger, Barnesville, MN, Philip (Karla) Wenger, Moorhead, MN, Marlene Carr, Winlock, WA, and Gail Wenger, Bremerton, WA.
She is survived by five grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Stevens, Vancouver, WA, and Lois Bonner, Portland, OR; and a half brother, John Loberg, Colorado Springs, CO. A brother, Donald Ling, preceded her in death.
She also leaves two sisters-in-law, Marion McIntosh, Herman, MN, and Louella Holmquist, Moorhead.
Evie's wit, humor, style, kindness, and optimistic outlook on life was a shining example for all. Her gentle soul will be missed.

Korsmo Funeral Chapel,
Moorhead, Minnesota.
Inurnment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
