Fernald LeRoy Holte was born May 19, 1927, in Crookston, MN, to Clarence and Tilda (Aanenson) Holte. He attended school in Climax, MN.
Fernald married Dorothy Wilkens on December 31, 1948, in Lockhart, MN, and they made their home in Fargo, ND, and Moorhead, MN. He worked for Fairmont Creamery and then Cass Clay Creamery for many years.
Fernald died Thursday, July 30, 2015, in Sanford Health, Fargo, at eighty-eight years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Bruce (Toni), Bradley (Michelle), Jeffrey (Rae), and Jodi (Michael) Rogers; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Verne (Curt) Melberg, Orion (Holly), and Alden (Lois).
He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry, and an infant granddaughter, Rebekah Holte.

Visitation for Fernald will begin at 10 AM, followed by the funeral at 11 AM, Tuesday, August 4, 2015, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Ada, MN.
