Florence A. Skodje, 92, Dilworth, MN, died Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.
Florence Adele Hendrickson was born April 3, 1918, to Edwin and Anna Marie (Lindquist) Hendrickson, in Fargo. She graduated from Fargo High School and Dakota Business College.
Florence married Eugene Beaton in Fargo. He was killed in action in WWII on June 3, 1945. Florence continued to make her home in Fargo after his death.
On April 14, 1947, Florence married Leonard Skodje and they also made their home in Fargo. They eventually moved to Moorhead then settled in Dilworth. Florence worked as a rural postal carrier for the Dilworth Post Office until her retirement.
On September 30, 1997, Leonard died. Florence continued to live in Dilworth and became a resident at Serenity Assisted Living in May of 2010.
She enjoyed crafts, was a talented seamstress, and liked to fish at the lake.
Florence is survived by five children, Joan (Harold) Strandlien, Jean (Gerald) Folstrom, Sandra (Pedro) Rodriguez, Rick (Susan) Skodje, and Steven (Cheryle) Skodje; a daughter-in-law, Lucy Skodje; 14 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchi
