Florence Anderson, 85, Moorhead, MN, died April 25, 2009, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.
Florence was born January 5, 1924, at home near Davenport, ND, the daughter of August and Nora (Anderson) Broberg. She attended country schools and graduated from Leonard (ND) high school in 1943.
She married Allen Anderson on August 31, 1949. They farmed near Lisbon before moving to Moorhead. She did day care in her home and sold Avon for many years. In 1968, she started working at Concordia College, and retired in 1988. Allen died in 1971. Florence continued to live in Moorhead, and became a resident of Eventide in 2006.
Florence was a talented seamstress, who sewed her children's clothes, many quilts, lap robes, and stuffed teddy bears, many of which she donated to charities. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Her other talents included refinishing and reupholstering furniture, crocheting, and many other crafts.
Florence is survived by her daughters, Nancy Anderson, Moorhead, Sheila (Bill) Rector, West Fargo, ND, Sharon (Craig) Fawley, Watertown, MN, and Patty (Francis) Roller, Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Christine, Mason (fiancée Sara Dahlen), Katelyn, and Alisa Rector, Jeremiah (Sarah) and Matthew (Jessica) Fawley, Allana (Ryan) Offerdahl, and Jonathon Roller; great-grandson, Ryder Offerdahl; sister, Eunice Anderson; sister-in-law, Dorothy Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sisters, Helen Vanderwerff, and Agnes Anderson.
Visitation: Monday, from 6 PM to 9 PM, with a prayer service at 8 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 2 PM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
