Florence Dorothy Meyers was born on the family farm near Moorhead, MN, on April 18, 1919, to Fred and Irene (Amundsgaard) Meyers. She attended and graduated from Moorhead State Teachers Campus High School.

After graduation, Florence attended Interstate Business College, Fargo, ND, specializing in accounting. She worked at St. Ansgar Hospital, Fairmont Creamery (during the war), Evenson's Grocery, Hawley Grocery, Bahl Cleaners, Bon Valet Cleaners and Stop-N-Go.

With her loving family present, Florence died Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, at ninety-one years of age.
Florence was a very special lady to many and cared deeply for her friends and family. Her intelligence and curiosity led her to enjoy life to its fullest. She was an avid reader and loved many activities such as baking, fishing at the lakes, any and all card games, dancing, and above all, laughing.
Everyone who met Florence loved her for her quick wit, great sense of humor and honesty - you always knew where you stood with Floss! She listened carefully to those around her, giving each debate a good listen and then fair judgment. The memories made with her will be treasured forever.
Florence is survived by her son, Mike (Kathy) Meyers, Moorhead; grandson, Lee (Brandy) Strand; two stepgrandchildren, Alissa Nielsen, Portland, OR, and Ben Nielsen, Fargo; two sisters, Grace Bahl, Moorhead, and Ruth Schulz, Jamestown, ND; and not to forget her two wonderful nieces, Roseann (Dave) Radel, and their daughter, Stacy Vetter, and Irene Butler, and her daughter, Chris (Jeff) Thompson; who brought great joy to her life. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Her memorial mass will be at 2 PM, Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Bottolfson Chapel at Eventide Lutheran Home, 1405 7th Street South Moorhead - Florence's home.
Visitation will be at the chapel one hour before the Mass.
The family would like to thank Sanford Hospital 6th floor, for their tender care and would also like to extend our deep gratitude to her extended family at Eventide.
