Florence M. Korsmo, Fargo, ND, died Monday, January 21, 2013, in Elim Rehab and Care Center, Fargo.
Florence Mabel Johnson, one of nine children of Hans Christian and Olida (Ruud) Johnson, was born April 15, 1919, in Osnabrock, ND. She grew up and attended school in Osnabrock. She also attended Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MN, and then Mayville (ND) State Teacher's College. She taught school in Osnabrock, Larimore, ND, and California. She also lived in Washington, DC, where she worked in the Library of Congress.
On October 29, 1949, Florence was married to Paul E. Korsmo, in Northwood, ND. Following their marriage, they lived in Northwood. They later lived in Longview, WA, Minneapolis, and Warren, MN. In 1958, the family moved to Moorhead, MN, where they established Korsmo Funeral Service. Florence taught school in Moorhead, primarily at Riverside Elementary School, until she retired from teaching in 1974. She joined her husband in the family business, until she retired in 1985.
She combined her gift of teaching with her deep faith in Jesus Christ in her wonderful Bible teaching. She expressed her faith by ministering in FM Christian Business and Professional Women, leading Stonecroft Bible Studies, and the Gideons Auxiliary. She also was active in Altrusa service club.
In 1997, the couple moved to Fargo. Florence enjoyed reading. She deeply loved her family, and will be fondly remembered for playing "Flinch" with her grandchildren. In August of 2006, Florence became a resident of Elim Rehab and Care Center.
Florence is survived by her husband, Paul, Fargo; daughter, Paulette (Richard) Frith, Crary, ND; son, George (Ruth) Korsmo, Moorhead; brothers, Wendell (Janet) Johnson, Fargo, and Wilbur (Louise) Johnson, Minneapolis; grandchildren, Paul (Stacey) Frith an

Visitation: Friday, 4 PM until 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral: Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 2 PM in Bethel Church, Fargo.
Burial: Northwood South Cemetery, Northwood, ND.
