Florence Inez Brendemuhl was born Oct. 11, 1922, at Sabin, MN, the daughter of Chris and Agnes (Krabbenhoft) Brendemuhl. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin. She graduated from Moorhead (MN) State Campus High School in 1940. Following graduation, she worked as a waitress at the Blue Bird Coffee Shop in Moorhead. During this time, she met Robert North, who was a young Army cadet from California, in officer candidate school at Moorhead State University.
Florence and Robert where married on February 28, 1945. To this marriage, one son, Robert Jr., was born.
Florence and Bob North lived in Los Angeles, CA, for a number of years, during which, Bob was employed as an artist for the Walt Disney Corporation and Universal Studios. In about 1955, following Bob's death from cancer, Florence and their son, Robert, Jr., moved back to Sabin. Florence was employed by Shotwell Ready to Wear in Fargo, ND, for more than twenty years.
In February of 1985, Florence moved to Sharpview in Moorhead, and in July of 1995, she moved to Eventide, first in the Living Center and later in the Lutheran Home, where Florence died on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at the age of 82.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents, Chris and Agnes Brendemuhl, and her brother, Leland "Bud" Brendemuhl.
Florence is survived by a son, Robert; two sisters, Fern Wilson of Torrance, CA, and Dixie (Ron) Jackson, Moorhead; a sister-in-law, Elouise Brendemuhl, Moorhead; and several nieces and nephews in California and Minnesota.
