Floyd S. Marshall, 71, Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Floyd Solomon Marshall was born to Mckinley and Clarina (Brown) Marshall in Frierson, Louisiana on February 10, 1940. He was raised in Frierson and graduated from Second Ward High School. He attended college at Grambling University and then transferred to the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis.
On December 10, 1971, Floyd married Mary Lian in Watertown, SD. They made their home in Minneapolis, eventually settling in Moorhead. Floyd owned a variety of restaurants that all specialized in barbeque ribs.
Floyd was a talker who enjoyed telling stories and gathering with family and friends.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Mary; a son, Floyd Marshall Jr.; three daughters, Carolyn M. Wells, Vicky Wright, and Michelle (David) Christopherson; two brothers, Dave (Joyce) Marshall and Mack Marshall; two sisters, Myrtle Lucky and Clarine (Cordell) McDonald; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a special great grandchild, K.P, who Floyd called "my man".
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents.
The Visitation will be on Saturday from 12 - 2 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead, with the Funeral Service beginning at 2 PM at the church.
Burial will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
