Floyd E. Shambach, age 74, Barnesville, MN, formerly of Fargo, ND, died on Friday, Sept. 26, 2003 at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Barnesville.
Floyd Eugene Shambach was born on July 14, 1929 at rural Brinsmade, ND, the son of Shiloh and Mary (Herman) Shambach. He grew up and went to school in the Brinsmade area. As a young man he loved to hunt and trap.
In the late 1950's, Floyd served his country in the US Armed Forces. After his discharge from the military he worked in the oil fields of western North Dakota, and then returned to the Brinsmade area.
On July 5, 1958, Floyd was united in marriage to Lucille Qualiwag. They made their home in Crary, ND, and later in Devils Lake, ND. Floyd worked on a local farm and at a grain elevator in Devils Lake. He retired in 1987, and they moved to Cando, ND. Lucille died in December of 1989.
After Lucille's death, Floyd moved to Fargo, ND, where he lived until becoming a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in Barnesville in June of 1998.
Floyd is survived by a brother, Gordon Shambach of Minot, ND; four sisters, Norma Rose of Rolette, ND, Mary (Robert) Dryden of San Diego, CA, Grace Lilke of Fargo, and Esther (Vernon) Gerig of Brinsmade; and 15 nieces and nephews.
