Floyd Wayne Guest was born in Mexia, TX, on December 5, 1952, to Julius Ole and Dorothy (LaMasters) Guest. Floyd grew up and attended school in Mexia. Floyd began working in the cotton mill, in Mexia, at a young age.
In 1974, he met Pamela Hoag while she was attending Bible College at Christ for the Nations in Oak Cliff, TX. They fell in love and were married January 1, 1975, at Pamela's parent's home in Moorhead, MN. The couple returned to Texas and then relocated to Minnesota in 1977.
Together Floyd and Pamela raised four children. Floyd was a very hard worker. He began working for Northern Plains Steel Company, Fargo, ND, in 1977, and remained there until 1998. He also worked at McKone Cigar Company, Fargo, and continued working there until March 2007.
Floyd was a very devoted husband and father. He lived every moment to be with his wife and children. Together they enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing sports. He especially loved baseball and softball. Floyd and his children played on a Minnesota softball league every summer. In 2008, Floyd was nominated to the Softball Hall of Fame in Minnesota. Floyd was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all.
Floyd passed away peacefully in his home in Comstock, MN, on Friday, March 27, 2009, at fifty-six years of age.
Floyd is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Pamela; three sons, Jeremy (Michelle Stickel) Guest, Josh (Rebecca) Guest, and Joe (Jania Loosmore) Guest; one daughter, Brandee Guest; adopted child, Dwayne (Renee) Chevalier; grandchildren, Samantha,
Visitation for Floyd will be Friday, April 3, 2009, from 5 - 7 PM, with a time of sharing at 7 PM, in Comstock Lutheran Church, Comstock.
His funeral will be Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 11 AM, in Comstock Lutheran Church.
