Frances L. Edlund

Frances Louise Loff was born September 18, 1909, in Mitchell Township, near Kent, MN, to Hans and Mathilda (Stach) Loff. Frances was raised in the Wolverton, MN, area where she received her education. She worked at various jobs, in her younger years, in the Wolverton area.
Frances was married to Leonard Edlund, August 4, 1935, in Moorhead, MN, and they lived in Wolverton where they owned and operated a restaurant. They moved to Barrett, MN, where they owned and operated a grocery store, until they moved to Moorhead. Frances worked at Fairmont Creamery in Moorhead.
Leonard preceded Frances in death on September 29, 1962, and she continued to make her home in Moorhead. She entered Golden Living Center, Moorhead, in April of 2000, where she died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at ninety-eight years of age.
Family was very important to Frances. She spent many summers fishing on Lake Crystal with her nieces, nephews, and their families.
Frances is survived by a sister, Lorraine (Earl) Fagerberg, Portland, OR; and many nieces and nephews. Following the death of her husband, Frances enjoyed a close relationship with her niece, Leone Nelson of Wolverton, who continued on as a caregiver as well as niece and friend.
In addition to her husband, Frances was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Ethel, Evelyn, Agnes, and Anna; and six brothers, Roy, Walter, George, Allen, Maurice, and Lewis.
The funeral for Frances will be Sunday, April 20, 2008, at 2:30 PM, in Bethesda Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
Visitation will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead.
Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
