Franklin Charon

February 20, 1937 — July 16, 2005

Franklin Delano Charon, the son of Thomas and Mattie (Frovarp) Charon, was born February 20, 1937, on the family farm near Park River, ND. Frank grew up and received his education in the Park River area, where he graduated from high school in 1954.

On June 7, 1954, Frank was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Lila Ferguson, in Warren, MN. Following their marriage, they made their home in Grand Forks, ND. In 1959, they moved to Fargo, ND. Frank and Lila enjoyed square dancing together and cherished the friendships they made.

Frank lived out his Christian faith in his life and work. He truly cared about people and could not refuse a request for help. Frank worked as a printing press repairman, for many years as a self-employed electrician, and he operated a steel building construction company.

Frank died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at his home in Fargo, at the age of 68. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Family was important to Frank. He never tired of driving the boat so his kids could water ski. He also enjoyed deer hunting with his sons. He honored his grandchildren, and he tried to attend games or events that they where involved in. He is survived by his wife, Lila; four children, Janel (Steve) Rozek, Fridley, MN, and Gayle (Paul) Brant, Frank (Ranae) Charon Jr., and Greg (Tanya) Charon, all of Fargo; eleven grandchildren, Eric and Brian Rozek, Angela, Jordan and Adam Brant, Franklin III, Thea and Casey Charon, Benjamin, Mariah and Arianna Charon; brother, Harlan (Violet) Charon, Hallock, MN; and sister, Marion (Orvis) Ronnie, Rapid City, SD.
