Freda Kyllo, age 99, Moorhead, MN, died December 24, 2013, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.

Freda Kyllo, the daughter of George and Fannie Knauer, was born in Silverwood, IN, on May 9, 1914. She grew up in Cayuga, IN, where she graduated from high school. On December 21, 1941, she married Harold Kyllo in Indianapolis, IN. Following WWII, they moved to Gardner, ND, and soon after to Georgetown, MN, where they resided until Freda moved to Moorhead, in 1970.

Freda worked at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND, for a number of years before her retirement in 1984. She was active in Kirkebo Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid in Perley, MN. Freda was an avid gardener and member of the Georgetown Garden Club and while raising her daughters, was a leader in the Georgetown 4-H Club.

Freda is survived by her three children, Kathryn (Ralph) Stenstrom, Clinton, NY, Karmen Kyllo, Minot, ND, and Karen Kyllo, Springfield, NJ; one grandchild, Christopher (Michael Samis) Stenstrom, Nashville, TN; a brother, Dale (Sue) Knauer, Cayuga; and a sister, Doris Farthing, Cayuga.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; and a brother, Fred Knauer.

The family requests that memorials be given to Kirkebo Lutheran Church.

Visitation: One hour prior to service.

Funeral Service: Monday, January 6, 2014, at 1 PM, in Kirkebo Lutheran Church, Perley.

Interment: Kirkebo Lutheran Cemetery, Perley.
