Freddie L. Poehls, age 96, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, MN.
Freddie was born November 28, 1908, on his parents' farm just outside of Sabin, MN. His parents were Henry and Dorothea (Wright) Poehls, both Clay County residents. He graduated from Moorhead High School in 1927.
Freddie married Irene Conway of Leeds, ND, in 1947. Their daughter, Bonnie Haney, was born February 26, 1952.
In 1953, Freddie opened his business, The Bargain Outlet Store, in Fargo. He retired and closed the store in 1988.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Mary (Andy) Thies, Mabel (Charles) Buth, Tracy (Andrew) Edwards, and Lila; and his brother, Eddie (Mildred) Poehls.
Freddie is survived by his daughter, Bonnie (Jim) Haney, Moorhead; three grandsons, Zeb (Wendy) Haney, Minneapolis, MN, Gabe Haney, Moorhead, and Greg (Khara) Haney, Fargo; a great-grandson, Seamus, also of Minneapolis; and eight nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Sunday, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in
Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
