Frieda M. Herrig

Frieda Marie Herrig was born December 12, 1908, in Nobles County, MN, near Fulda, MN, to Isidor and Sophie (Haberman) Pollak. Frieda grew up on the family farm and attended country school. She later attended St. Gabriels School in Fulda.
Frieda was united in marriage to Leo Herrig on November 20, 1928, at St. Gabriels Church in Fulda. They lived and farmed for many years in that area as well as the Graceville, MN, area. They moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1978.
Frieda enjoyed many years of happiness in retirement, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frieda was also very fond of flowers and music.
Frieda passed away Sunday, September 13, 2009, in Golden Living Center, Moorhead, at the age of one hundred years.
Frieda is survived by her son, Richard (Irene) Herrig, Moorhead; three granddaughters, Anita (Steve) Weaver, Moorhead, Peggy Young, Laughlin, NV, and Patty (Ron) Heid, Minneapolis, MN; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, on March 10, 1986; a granddaughter; three brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation for Frieda will be Thursday, September 17, 2009, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
The Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 18, 2009, at 10:30 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
