Gail Sharon Tillotson, 73, Fargo, ND, went home to be with her Lord on December 17, 2015.
Gail had fought a courageous battle with MS for over thirty years. She never let that stop her energetic and adventurous spirit.
Gail was born March 25, 1942, to Arvid and Alma (Stensrud) Larson in Fargo. She grew up in Averill, MN, on the family farm. She graduated from Glyndon (MN) High School in 1960, as Valedictorian. Gail graduated from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, in 1964, with a Bachelor of Science degree. Gail also received a Master of Education degree from NDSU, Fargo, ND, in 1998.
Gail worked as an Avon representative for a few years before beginning her career at Fargo Clinic as a Medical Technologist. A profession she was passionate about , she remained there until 1993.
Gail married Gerald Tillotson in 1974. Together they owned and operated Mr.T's , a women's upscale clothing store on Broadway in Fargo, for which she did some modeling, until Gerry's untimely death in 1985.
Gail was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous. She became the GSR for her group and then the Chairman of the Northern Assembly through nomination. She and Gerry credit their involvement in the AA program for helping them through many trials.
Gail enjoyed the local garden club, where she became an active member. Gail enjoyed judging at flower shows as well as entering her own designs, for which she won many awards.
Gail was diagnosed with MS in 1982.She received an award in 1992, from the city of Fargo, for being Fargo's Outstanding Disabled Citizen, and second place for the 1992 Disabled North Dakotan of the year. She enjoyed Hawaii in 1986, where she took on parasailing. She also traveled to the Bahamas, Florida, and took an Alaskan cruise with her sister, Darlene.
Gail enjoyed her cats, painting and genealogy as well as playing cards with her special friends , Jim and Marlys Winter.
Gail is survived by her brother, Alton (Mae) Larson, Moorhead; and sisters, Rosalin Henke, Oak Lawn, IL, and Mavis Wasil, Tinley Park, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arvid and Alma Larson; two sisters, Delores Larson and Darlene Cox; and her husband, Gerald; and many other loved ones.
The funeral for Gail will be Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at 1 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Scandia Lutheran Cemetery, Averill.
