Garnet Floberg

Garnet A. Floberg, 95, of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, August 6, 2015, in Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Garnet Adeline Graff was born, February 11, 1920, the daughter of Albert and Gertrude (Bjorgen) Graff, in Madison, MN, where she was baptized in Madison Lutheran Church. She lived with her family in Madison until they moved to Kindred, ND, where she attended school and was confirmed in Norwegian at her church.

Garnet later moved to Fargo, where she worked at the Manchester Cookie Company until it closed. She then went to work for Fargo Casket Company where she worked as a seamstress until she retired. She also worked at Dairy Queen for a few years.

On September 15, 1973, she was united in marriage to Maurice Floberg at Hegland Lutheran Church, rural Hawley, MN. They bought a house in Moorhead in 1974, that they fixed up and lived in until she moved to a nursing home in May of 2015.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Fargo. After retirement Garnet and Maurice enjoyed traveling and took four long trips throughout the country, which they really enjoyed.

She is survived by her husband, Maurice; sisters, Doris Alverson, Corrine Nygaard, Aagot Hansen, Evelyn (Morris) Wirth, Marlene Bergquist, and Irene (Wesley) Nelson; sister-in-law, Irene Graff; brother-in-law: Vincent (Alice) Floberg; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Beatrice Mortenson; and brother, Gordon Graff.

A Visitation for Garnet will be Monday from 5 PM until 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Service in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 2 PM in Hegland Lutheran Church, rural Hawley.

Burial for Garnet will take place in Hegland Lutheran Cemetery.
